My iPhone Is Running Out of Space

My desire to grow my music collection is having an unintended consequence.

Over the last few years I've been buying most of the music I listen to, mostly from Bandcamp, and often on their Bandcamp Fridays when all of the money goes to the artists. I download the FLAC versions for my computer to listen to them since they're higher quality. They're also much bigger in terms of file size. To put it in perspective, one of the albums I bought Friday, Party Adjacent by Dan Andriano in the Emergency Room is a 12 track album. The MP3 zip file was 108.9 MB. The FLAC zip file was 325.2 MB, almost three times the size.

Adding them to my computer's library with its massive hard drive hasn't been an issue. My 256 GB iPhone on the other hand, well it's starting to add up.

Over the last couple months I've been smart and have been sending the MP3 files to my phone, and keeping the FLAC versions for my laptop and desktop. It's been better, but I still have a lot of FLAC versions on my iPhone I should convert. I guess I'll have to figure out how to search my iPhone storage on the files app on iOS and identify the albums I need to re-download.

I'd just re-sync with Doppler, the music app I use on iOS, but I don't want to give up FLAC on my computer just yet and since I'd just sync all the files, it'd sync all the FLAC files, and none of the MP3 files, and I'd be even worse off. So if I can just identify the albums that are FLAC, I can remove them, re-download them, and see how much space on my phone I can reclaim.

And yes, I know this is a first world problem.
