Week Notes forOctober 11 - 24 (#120)

Because of a vacation this past week, you get the pleasure of a week note spanning two weeks instead of one...although it's rather boring.

The Week Leading Up to Vacation is Always Long

Given that we were finally going on a vacation, the week leading up to it felt long and drawn out. Every day felt longer than it should. I also didn't want to pick up any big tickets at work as to not have to remember exactly where I was in the development process. It tends to be easier to get back into the swing of things when I return to work.

Vacation

My wife and I spent a week in Cape May, NJ to celebrate our anniversary. From our usual Cape May trips, it was much more low-key. We still went to a few wineries and breweries, but for the most part we just hung around the hotel and relaxed. The weather was perfect so we spent a lot of time on the hotel's veranda overlooking the ocean. For some it might feel like a "waste" of a vacation, but for us, it was perfect.

Changing My Doodling Tooling

For almost the last year I've been trying to draw or doodle every day. I'd been doing it with my iPad and Procreate. I recently decided to try my hand at switching to a LEUCHTTURM1917 sketch book and my fountain pen. It feels a little different, especially without an eraser that I've enjoyed. I kind of enjoy the rough edges, the mistakes, and the final results.
