Week Notes forAugust 9 - 15 (#111)
It was another quiet week this week. Played a tough hockey game, ran a bunch, and started using my fountain pens more.
Tough Hockey Loss
Monday's playoff game was a tough 3-1 loss. We played well, but were stymied by the defense and goalie of the other team. They got two goals past me and an empty netter to finish it off. Either way, it was a good, strong season and a lot of fun.
Some Longer Runs
Friday and Saturday both had decent weather so I decided to go for some longer runs at a local park and trail. Compared to running around my neighborhood, running along a trail along the Perkiomen Creek is a lot more scenic. It was also nice to be in the shade for a lot of it. I ended up running 5.25 miles Friday and 4.25 miles Saturday.
Fountain Pens are Awesome
I've been using a fountain pen with my nightly journal for a while now. Well, I'm now using them a lot more and they're a joy to write with. I might be developing a slight addiction. I just ordered the LAMY Safari with an extra-fine nib and a bunch of notebooks. I've been moving more analog and this is just helping accelerate things.
Cooking
Korean BBQ Boneless Short Ribs
I grilled these short ribs last night and they turned out fantastic. I'd highly recommend them. I marinated them overnight and the flavor was amazing.
